Below is a list of the commonly used abbreviations & Terms used in the Apartment Insights publication and in the reports found on www.apartmentinsights.com. If you can not find the abbreviation or term you are looking for please contact us at: info@apartmentinsights.com.

Property Type:

Conventional

Projects other than the following three project types; primarily projects whose rental rates are not subject to government subsidy (may include Affordable Housing projects charging market rents), have long-term conventional leases, and charge market rents.

Subsidized

Projects where rental rates are subject to government agency subsidy for low income residents, including any Affordable Housing projects charging maximum rents set by government agency.

Apt/Hotel

Operates with weekly or daily rentals and does not accept monthly or long-term leases.

Student Hsg

Projects which typically rentby the bed(room) to college students.

Property Status:

Stabilized

is having once reached that point during a lease-up phase where net absorption is not positive for three consecutive months.

Lease-up

is an opening or re-opening of a project for lease until stabilization occurs.

Out-of-Service

property is non-operational.

Rents:

Gross

These are the market or asking rents.

Net

Rental amount after concessions have been deducted from gross rent.

Economic

Amount closer to what is being brought in for then unit type, taking in to account concessions & vacant units.

Rents -

"Furn" reflects rents for furnished units and "Unfurn" for unfurnished units. In the event that the rent for a particular model varies, the lowest rate is shown in the model information section, and the high rent, with an explanation for the variance in rents, is noted in the "Comments" section.



Deposits -

refundable security deposits.

Redec Fee -

Non-refundable redecorating/cleaning fees. May reflect non-refundable administrative fees.
